<<Lucky Strike>>

Jackie was too wired to sleep after the events of today. Besides she had some thinking to do after the qualifier match and the dinner with Dan and K’Hare. She was nursing a half finished mug of bloodwine as her mind wandered thinking about today’s events. Her gaze fell on the scratch on her hand, it was nothing big, but nevertheless it served as a big reminder to her. She knew she gotten lucky during that match and would have to be way more careful and alert the next time.

The slight headache she was beginning to get was probably due to the bloodwine she’s had so far, but the Caitian couldn’t remember just how many mugs of bloodwine she’s had so far counting the dinner with her peers and now.

Her thoughts wondered to tomorrow’s matches as she looked into the dark liquid in her mug.

K'Vok sauntered into the bar and loudly ordered a mug of bloodwine as he ran a hand through his short hair. To most of he patrons he must have been a sight, a short, stout warrior in Klingon armour, with pointy ears and short hair. Not something you see everyday. The warriors on the meH'Haj were used to it, but he was sure it wouldn't be long before he had to fight off some stupid petaQ who didn't know him.

Jackie’s ears flickered as she heard a loud voice call out for bloodwine, she glanced over at the newcomer. Slightly raising her eyebrow at the sight of a short stout warrior with pointy ears and short hair, and all that was in Klingon armor. She brought her mug to her lips taking a gulp of the bloodwine as she casually looked around the bar watching to see if there’s anyone she could recognize.

K'Vok looked around and saw a Caitian looking at him. He growled a little as he took a sip of his bloodwine. "Are you staring at me, furball?"

Jackie’s ears flickered as she finished the rest of her bloodwine and turned to face the one who spoke to her.

“Not anymore, but a lot of others are…” she noted, flashing him a brief smile, and indeed some of the bar’s occupants were also giving the Klingon curious looks.

K'Vok growled, "Do not stare at me, kitten."

“Kitten?” Jackie gave him an incredulous look. “Watch who you call a kitten, pal.” Jackie shot back, fighting back a really sharp retort, instead her grip on the empty mug tightened.

"Or what? You will hiss at me?" K'Vok asked, looking down at the Caitian.

“Never dealt with a Caitian before have you, ridges?” she asked, smirking, before turning away to call for a fresh mug of bloodwine trying to ignore K’Vok.

K'Vok snarled, "No, you are rather beneath my dignity..."

"Why? Got your dignity stepped on  by one once, and decided not to take your" She held up a hand, claws extended "chances again?" she smirked, bringing the clawed hand at the bar, the sharp points making a mark on the surface.

"No, I just hardly see how a species that resembles a grishnar cat in both appearance and attitude can be worth a warrior's time." K'Vok replied harshly.

“Ouch…” Jackie replied, mocking hurt. She snorted. “I’d hardly consider you a warrior…” she replied.  “but I’d be careful if I were you” she warned him sounding calm, as her hands once again wrapped around the bloodwine mug.

"Ha'DIBaH!" K'Vok spat, "I could break you in two."

Jackie smirked.

“In your dreams, perhaps.” She replied wearily, getting tired of it. She fiddled with the mug a little focusing her annoyance on that instead of on the Klingon as she didn’t want to make a scene, but he was very close to causing it.

K'Vok growled, "ghuy-cha piece of baktag."

“Ah shut up” Jackie responded, not able to take it anymore, the Caitian flipped up her mug and tossed it at K’Vok with force.

K'Vok didn't quite duck in time and was hit wit the heavy mug. It dazed him for a second, but them he roared and tackled the Caitian off of her chair, growling.

Caught off guard and tackled to the ground the Caitian let out a growl as she tried to fight him off and escape from his grasp. She swung a fist aiming to catch K’Vok with a well aimed punch.

K'Vok blocked as well as he could, elbowing Jackie in the nose?

Jackie threw her head back, taking post of the elbow into her cheek instead, she lashed out in response her claws extended as she slashed at the Klingon.

K'Vok pulled his head back, getting scratched, but not deeply. He growled and punched at Jackie's ribs, in the back of his mind he realized security might come, but that didn't matter.

Jackie oofed, her breath temporarily knocked out from her lungs at the punch. She kicked at the Klingon trying to knock him off herself with a sharp kick to his chest.

K'Vok paused, looking at her. He was confused here, but felt drawn to the Caitain. He and T'Lai would never work, she was being sent away to Qo'nos. They had already agreed to that. Maybe he should take the initiative here, after all, the woman had been hitting on him, even threw a mug at him. Growling, he bit her on the side of her jaw, although he turned and spat out the fur.

Jackie recoiled in surprise, her eyes wide at the bite, she let out a curt cry that turned into a growl as Jackie mustered up all the strength she’s had and bringing her hand around slapped the Klingon upside the head her claws extended, the Caitian hissed revealing her fangs as her eyes gleamed locking onto the Klingon.

K'Vok backed off an inch, maybe that wasn't her intention. K'Vok hit her back, though, because those claws hurt!

Jackie hissed more at the stinging she felt on her cheek from the bite rather than from anger aimed at the Klingon; bringing up her foot to kick at K’Vok.

‘this is gonna leave a mark in the morning’ she thought, glaring at the Klingon. Her eyes narrow, she wondered what he’ll do next, as she prepared for her next move.

K'Vok growled and pinned her shoulders. He thought about getting up, but wasn't sure if she'd attack too.

“Tough guy…” she remarked, clicking her tongue against her teeth as she displayed her fangs briefly before in a swift move sinking them into his left hand that’s been holding her shoulder.

K'Vok yelped, pulling his hand back. He got up, holding his hand.

“Not worth your time, eh?” Jackie threw back her head and laughed as she scrambled to her feet, her fists clenched since the ordeal had left her more than just a bit shaken up, but she wasn’t about to show it to the Klingon.

"Perhaps you are worth my time." K'Vok replied, turning around and stalking off.

Jackie took a step back , cocking her head to the side, wondering what he meant before she stormed out of the bar trying to appear casual despite how she might’ve looked like to the outside world right now.

<<Jackie Clawson’s Quarters>>

“Well this is wonderful….” The Caitian murmured. “what a day…” she said to herself, rubbing at the bite mark left by K’Vok. The pain had subsided, but she still felt the sensation that there was something there.

Jackie took in a few breaths fetching a small medical kit from her belongings and quickly running a scan on herself to make sure she would be up to par in the morning. In addition to her injuries, she noticed her blood alcohol levels have been slightly elevated.

“oops..” she blinked, “not good…” she agreed, although she didn’t really feel the effects of the bloodwine that badly. The Caitian knew that it would impact on her match tomorrow if she weren’t fine by morning.

She looked at herself in the mirror, and took a step back astonished. The Klingon really did a number on her.

She growled lowly, wondering why can’t all Klingons be like K’Hare and toreQ, but she had to remind herself that the Klingon who assaulted her at Lucky Strike didn’t seem like a full fledged Klingon. Letting out an exasperated sign, the Caitian disappeared into the bathroom to clean up and settle her appearance as best as she could.
