After the excitement earlier at dinner, toreQ was still doing his best to keep one step ahead of the Qel he knew was searching for him, however he was quickly tiring and his injuries where taking a toll on him. He knew he should at least try to find someone with medical experience, but he didn't want to be questioned by the be' he usually went to. He made it to one of the bars serving more non-Klingon food, hoping they would not consider looking there as he allowed himself to settle... toreQ forgot that Veska had spent more of her time in the Federation than she had with the Empire. Wishing for a quieter place to eat, and actually enjoy the food rather than protect it from another Klingon being thrown onto it... Veska opted for a less Klingon heavy menu, restaurant. Convincing Von this was a good idea however had proved more difficult. Von: "I'm telling you for the last time if it’s cooked. I'm not going in there" He turned to her and growled. "With this many Klingons on the station, I am sure they have SOME things still roaming around the back room to satisfy the 'live food' requirement," Veska mumbled. As she stepped inside, patrons looked to the unlikely pair, but then at someone else, another Klingon. "It would seem we aren't the only ones who went looking for variety this evening," Veska said to Von and nodded in toreQ's direction. toreQ looked up just in time to see them and sighed. He got up hoping to leave before they noticed but not fully expecting to. Von followed her gaze and smiled. "Looks like I'll enjoy dinner here after all. Let’s go join our friend shall we." toreQ stopped his weary limp as he knew he had been noticed and trying to go now would only be a waste of effort, he was barely able move around at any good speed right now. He sighed an sat down, preparing to clinch his jaw. While it wasn't an idea that Veska had to get Von to a non-Klingon restaurant, she wasn't going to downplay the thought. How much they would really be able to find out relating to qul'yIt that qul'yIt himself didn’t already know, was debatable. "toreQ, it would seem you are being a typical Klingon, and running from medical treatment... or is there another reason you have been avoiding me. We established we both have mates already...so it can't be that," she said as she approached his table. "Mind if we join you... though you seem to be leaving." Veska added with a little sarcasm. toreQ just motioned for them to take a seat as he settled into his chair. He looked at Von. "Nothing found." "He was getting up to offer a lady a seat. Before you sat down." Von offered her a chair. "I am correct of course." Veska laughed, as she doubted that possibility. "Nothing found?" she repeated looking at Von, assuming it was more an answer to him than to her. Von: "Now why does that not surprise me?" toreQ said nothing in response to that, instead turning to Veska, "What do you need? I believe I still owe you a meal." "The meal is not important, I am sure there are more worthy favors I could ask for later," Veska answered. "I am curious about one thing though... why does qul'yIt have...watchers anyway. Is the house he originally came from, or how he came from that house such a concern, he needs babysitters?" she asked acknowledging she did know more about the situation then she had let toreQ believe. "That is something even your friend could tell you. Why not ask him?" "Because I smell the stink of Ferengi on you." Von, readied for a fight. "I want to hear it from your prospective," Veska answered undeterred. toreQ: "My perspective is worthless in this sense." "And why is that?" Veska replied. Von: "He knows who is dirty and protecting them." "Isn't that cryptic," Veska muttered. "And for this he needs babysitters? If you wanted to see who he was protecting, I could think of less obvious ways to get the information." She was flying blind here, as she still hadn't even known why qul'yIt said he had watchers. But toreQ didn't need to know that. "I am a minority. What my House thinks is beyond me." toreQ growled lowly, the usually cheerful Klingon not to happy at moment Veska raised an eyebrow. "Well you certainly don't come across as his best friend, that is for certain." Von: "He lies like a Ferengi." "What is your obsession with Ferengi?" Veska asked with a bit of a laugh at Von. Von: "They cheat and point the blame at other." He looked at toreQ. "They have no honor." "I do not lie!" toreQ growled as he started to stand, however he couldn't stand as his leg gave out. Von: "He knows more than he is telling us and won't say a word. He would rather see a warrior get stabbed in their sleep." "qul'yIt is reluctant to show his house. That is no way for a Klingon to live among people who are supposed to be there for each other, and to honor the empire. We, or at least I, to watch a fellow warriors back, want to know why his back needs to be looked after in the first place. If you are afraid of dirty laundry soiling the name of your house worse than the secrecy already is...that is your choice." toreQ grumbled, "Keep out of our House business! If you want to watch his back, fine! But I will not be responsible for your deaths!" "Our deaths are our own concern, but you still haven't answered why his death is a possible outcome of all this yet!" Veska grumbled back at him. toreQ pulled himself up, he was hurting badly but he did his best to not show it. He was also very angry. "Because your messing with a powerful House who will do everything necessary including kill to secure itself. "We are not messing with your house," Veska replied wondering why he was blowing this out of proportion. "We just want to know what we are up against. It is good to know ones enemy is it not?" Von: "And for that you give up your honor. A true warrior would stand fight. Face death with honor. You are not a true warrior." "Von, we don't know what he has or hasn't fought against. And his fighting today would lead me to believe he has great honor," Veska countered. "He is not the head of his house," she added, "so there is much even he probably doesn't know. Even if he is reluctant to divulge potentially helpful information to us." toreQ looked like he wanted to kill Von at that moment for the insult of his Honor.. but he bit back, growling lowly. "By sticking your noses in this business, you are messing with the House. As I said, I am a Minority. The only thing I have against him is that he was responsible for my Brother's death. What the rest of the House has against him is their concern." toreQ said breathing heavily as his head spun a bit. "And the two are not related?" Veska inquired, glaring at Von herself. Those were strong insults to hurl when all they were trying to do was help qul'yIt. "I... don't know." toreQ said as he started to stumble out of the restaurant. This was not a place to have a discussion like this. Von: "Sit down, I would not have the warrior who beat me fall on his face from his wounds. Don't argue or the good doctor will have you under while she works on you." Von looked at her and leaned back in his chair. "You said there was food that I would eat so what is it?" Von: "toreQ, would you join us." So much hurt in one family. She doubted toreQ would want her to intervene in his dispute/disagreement with qul'yIt any more than the houses dislike in the flamed Klingon either, related affairs or not. "Yes, join us. We are not trying to get new enemies...really." "I need to rest. I have another battle tomorrow." He said. "Of course," Veska replied reluctantly. "I am sure you have had your wounds looked at already, or they have healed beyond what I could add to anyway. But a bit of bloodwine before you go perhaps?" Von: "We would be honored if you do join us." "At least tell Von here what you ordered, as he was quite reluctant to come to a non-Klingon restaurant," Veska said with a smirk. “Not entirely..." toreQ admitted to Veska as he finally sat down. He could use something to stop his ribs from shifting at the least. "I didn't order anything." "Another attempt at re-knitting your ribs?" she guessed, "and I can release Von to go to a more suitable place for him to eat then." toreQ: “Perhaps, they will have more time to heal this time. But mainly wrapping them should work." "That I can do," she answered. "But here is hardly the place," she stood. She would have to satisfy her non Klingon food craving later. Von: "Well then let’s go." toreQ knew his opponent the next day would be formable. It was best he be ready, so in this sense he got up and left with them. ****** It didn't take long for Veska had wrapped toreQ's ribs. "I could add some salves if you want," she said with a wrinkled nose as she finished the wrap. Von smiled at the thought of it. "Don't waste it he is not warrior enough to withstand the pain." Veska laughed remembering their earlier discussion about her torturing her victims with bad smells. toreQ chuckled, "No thanks. Least I can do is present myself with less stink in front of my ra'wI'." Von: "That would be hard to do." "Suit yourself," Veska laughed. "Come on Von, I relent... let’s go get Klingon food," she said heading off in that direction. Turning back briefly she said to toreQ, "hopefully you do not feel the need to hide from me tomorrow." Von: "Or from me." "That will depend on your Ferengi obsession I think," Veska said with a half serious half comical face. Von: "That would be his issue not mine." "Enough Von," Veska said with a warning tone. "We have pestered toreQ enough." Von: "Have we?" "Yes, we have," she said firmly. "There are other ways to find out what we want to know." toreQ sighed as he pushed the two out of his room and let the doors shut, before going to bed. Von: "I guess he wanted us out." Veska slapped Von hard in the chest. "If we can figure out why toreQ feels qul'yIt is responsible for his brother’s death, maybe we might have an ally in this quest of ours. But you were trying to pick a fight!" Von: "I was trying to get him worked up so that you could get an answer out of him. "I think you only made him clam up," Veska replied. Perhaps it was the ambassador in her talking. "At any rate, tomorrow is another day. And I think we may have more luck with a less insultive approach." Von: "That is a laugh." Veska: "Perhaps that ship that qul'yIt was the only survivor of, was how toreQ's brother died. Depending on how qul'yIt was the only survivor..." Von: "Well then let’s get the official report and lets see what's missing." "How about food first," Veska said her tummy grumbling. "The official report will be there in the morning." Von: "Good idea. The way you snore, I don't want to know what you would sound like with an empty stomach." Veska slapped him in the chest again, and set off for food. "Von laughed and followed her. Ok you win, let’s get your food."
