She had come here to be with friends, and to give them medical treatment if they needed minor tending. But then she had met a man... Shaking her head, she jammed her hands into the pockets of the satin slacks she was wearing, her pace determined as she stalked along the deserted corridor. She had chosen this area just because it was deserted...she needed to clear her head, to have a chance to think and work off her uneasiness... As she rounded a corner, she nearly collided with someone. Skipping back, she looked up. "Oh, I'm sorry..." qul'yIt snarled, "Watch where you are going human!" He spat rudely with his usual ill temper... Startled by his appearance...was his skin moving?..she backed another step, then squared her shoulders. "I said I was sorry," she said in an even voice. "As you pointed out, I am only Human..." She wasn't going to challenge him, but she knew better than to back down. qul'yIt scoffed, "Remember that!" He started to turn away to leave... "As if I'd want to forget," Bettina muttered under her breath as she continued in the other direction. She had about had it with Klingons! She had only gone a few steps when she found herself facing two men, drunk, from the looks of them. "Looki here, Bilal...a pretty..." One of the men reached to finger her hair, and she stepped back. "Excuse me..." As she started to pass, they blocked her way. "Don' you wanna play, Pretty?" The second man now stepped forward. "We'll keep you comp'ny..." He grasped her wrist, gripping it tightly as he looked down at her. Taking a deep breath, Bettina shook her head. "I have somewhere to be..." For an instant, she tugged on her arm, but he held fast. She had one chance, something T'shir had taught her. "Well..." Smiling, she stepped toward him. "See, Pretty wan's ta play.." Bilal looked at his companion, his grin something a Fernegi would envy. "Come on, girl..." "Aye..." Still smiling, Bettina braced herself, inwardly relieved when the grip on her arm relaxed. Suddenly pressing forward, she smashed her foot onto the man's instep, then wrenched her arm free and turned, running... Running headlong into the backside of a temperamental Klingon..! qul'yIt snarled, and turned fiercely at being slammed. "What is your problem Human!" He growled, not realizing that there was something more to this than her running into him twice. "Them!" Grasping on to his waist, she scurried behind him as the two men suddenly skidded to a halt. "Uh...no harm done, sir," Bilal muttered, holding his hands up. "We jus' come ta take our sister home..." qul'yIt snarled. "If she wanted to go, she would not be running!" "They aren't my brothers," Bettina snapped, standing close behind qul'yIt. "I don't have any brothers... "Well, um...she's in trouble," the other man declared. "Yeah, trouble...she dishonored our family." Bilal nodded, trying to get at the Klingon's sense of honor. "She..uh..she..." "She was with her lover," the other man filled in..."her Ferengi lover!" "Oh, please!" Bettina rolled her eyes. qul'yIt snorted and turned his back on them, though he kept ready should they attack. "Move along Human." He nudged her in direction away from them." "Yeah, all right..." Bettina started to walk away, backwards so she could watch the men, who were beginning to skirt qul'yIt to follow her. "Sis, c'mon back..." Bilal held out a hand, keeping an eye on the massive Klingon's back. qul'yIt snarled back at them in warning, his hand going to his peace tied dagger at his belt. "Whassit ta you, Klingon?" Emboldened by alcohol, Bilal was pushing more than he might otherwise. "This is a family matter." "She said all Klingons are taHqeq," the other man now added. "Or worse!" "I did not!" Bettina shouted from behind qul'yIt. "You are liars!" She was still moving away. qul'yIt growled, "Go Human!" He then turned around and faced the other two. He said nothing, only gave them a warning glare with a growl. Nodding, Bettina turned and walked away, but slowly, she would hear if there was more trouble. "Well...jus' lett'er go!" Shaking his head, Bilal sighed and draped his arm over his companion's shoulders. "You gonna jus' stan' there all day, Klingon?" qul'yIt just turned his back once more and headed off.. Hearing steps behind her, Bettina glanced over her shoulder, fairly sure it wasn't the two men. But she was still a bit jumpy. When she recognized qul'yIt, she stopped and turned to face him. "Thanks...I have no idea who those jerks were..." qul'yIt just shrugged, "Take care of it yourself next time..." He said bluntly before continuing on.. "Aye, sir..." Nodding, she continued on her way, knowing that for at least a little while, she was safe. Bettina Davies PO2 DS7 & |

Post by AChadwick on Feb 24th, 2006, 10:24pm Alex punched the corridor wall.darn ! he needed her to get cash to come to him on his terms.He had researched the captain and found the man to be very dangerous if left to his own accord.He would have to disciplin those drunkin Idiots he had given the idea to in the first place.It had been easy to get them drunk and point her out to them and make a few suggestions that she desired them.alex would have to think of something else to get to cash he couldn't approach davies on his own for risk of being identified. |

She had not wanted to intervene, because that would have meant having to resort to violence, but she had been scanning for a security officer with one eye while making sure the young woman was in no serious danger with her other one. She followed after the woman for a bit and then caught up to her, falling into step beside her. The trill smiled, guessing that her host and this human weren't too far apart age wise, "Hello, I don't think we've met. I'm Lieutenant Donrav, from the USS Laffey. I saw your little run in with those thugs back there, are you okay?" <tag> |

Post by Bettina Davies on Feb 25th, 2006, 5:01pm Bettina was aware of the footsteps behind her and turned to look over her shoulder, knowing that it was best to confront any potential danger head on, and she was understandably wary. "What do you..? Oh..." As she noticed it wasn't the men who had accosted her, she relaxed and smiled. "Petty Officer Bettina Davies, Ma'am, DS7...I'm fine, thank you. That Klingon gentleman was kind enough to help." Sighing, she shook her head. "I guess I should be more careful where I wander in the wee hours of the morning, but I needed to think, and...well, I guess it isn't as deserted here as I thought." TAG Kentra OFF: I think Cash implied they were Klingon, but that wasn't my intention. Sorry for the confusion. Oh, and I hope 'Klingon gentleman' isn't an oxymoron! |

"They may have gotten more than they bargained for, though. I'm not a helpless as I seem!" Of course, right now, she was swimming in Bryan's shirt, that was nearly long enough to cover her shorts. "I know a little about fighting, and they were drunk..." She started to walk slowly along the corridor. "They annoyed me but didn't scare me..." It was an interesting realization. Then she took a deep breath. "He was...is a man. I met him in an alley one night and interrupted his business...he caught me when I tired to run. I tried to fight him, but I think I maybe got in one good swing, and the next thing I knew, I was looking into those eyes..." She shrugged again. "Then I was waking up in the hospital. I'm still not real sure why he didn't just...you know...but then he took me under his wing." She didn't go into all the problems she had had reconciling knowledge of the elusive pirate with her commitment to Starfleet... |

I highly encourage people who meet here to be subspace penpals when they get back to their simms. Think about it, you can write a post where you record a message and send it. You post that on your simm. Then email the other person. On their simm, they post receiving and playing your message their next time in their quarters and then they record and send back a response. You can do this every few weeks updating each other in turn on what happens on your ship. It makes the fleet seem smaller... and then you see each other at next years betleH tourney. Nothing stops you from doing a subspace call and doing a JP you post in both places either... or link holodecks and have a dinner. |
